Two young people from South Ayrshire Carrick Academy and Girvan
Academy attended a seminar in Edinburgh on 15 May 2005, to create
the guidelines for the Young Persons Challenge Fund. The seminar
was arranged by Dialogue Youth and the Scottish Government, and
was held at COSLA Headquarters.
The objective of the day was for representative young people
to identify the criteria that should be applied to the Young
Persons Challenge Fund (YPCF).
The YPCF challenges Scotland’s young people to find ways
of making public services more responsive to their needs by using
new technology. The challenge was set by Scottish Ministers and
the Fund is currently valued at £0.5 million.
Information on the Fund will be circulated later in the summer.
