Traffic Regulation Orders

Temporary Closure Order 2005

Bridge Deck Replacement Works at Ferly Bridge; U27 Deil's Elbow Road and Bankend Bridge; U47 Laigh Grange Road

The South Ayrshire Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will make it unlawful for: -

1. Any person to drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any motor vehicle, (with the exception of vehicles engaged on bridge refurbishment works), on that part of the U27 Deil’s Elbow Road, from a point 30 metres, north of Ferly Bridge, to a point 30 metres south of said bridge. The closure will be in place for a maximum duration of 5 weeks during the period from 09:00 hours on Monday 16th January 2006 until 24:00 hours on Friday 17th March 2006, as determined by on-street diversion signs.

2. Any person to drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any motor vehicle, (with the exception of vehicles engaged on bridge refurbishment works), on that part of the U47 Laigh Grange Road, from a point 30 metres, north of Bankend Bridge, to a point 30 metres south of said bridge. The closure will be in place for a maximum duration of 5 weeks during the period from 09:00 hours on Monday 16th January 2006 until 24:00 hours on Friday 17th March 2006, as determined by on-street diversion signs.

Alternative Routes

1. Ferly Bridge, U27 Deil’s Elbow Road - Southbound.
Vehicles wishing to access Glentrool from Crosshill should continue by way of the B741 (Girvan to Straiton Road), the C30 (South Water of Girvan Road), the B734 (Girvan to Barr Road), and the U66 (South Balloch Road) as directed by the on-street diversion signs. Vehicles wishing to access Crosshill from Glentrool should proceed in the opposite direction.

2. Bankend Bridge, U47 Laigh Grange Road – A77 Northbound.
Vehicles wishing to access the B7024 (High Maybole Road) from the A77 (Glasgow to Stranraer trunk road) from a northbound direction via the U47 (Laigh Grange Road) should continue by way of the A77 (Glasgow to Stranraer trunk road), and the C122 (Minishant to Garryhorn Road) as directed by the on-street diversion signs.

3. Bankend Bridge, U47 Laigh Grange Road - A77 Southbound.
Vehicles wishing to access the B7024 (High Maybole Road) from the A77 (Glasgow to Stranraer trunk road) from a southbound direction via the U47 (Laigh Grange Road) should continue by way of the A77 (Glasgow to Stranraer trunk road), and the B7023 (Maybole to Pennyglen Road) as directed by the on-street diversion signs.

4. Bankend Bridge, U47 Laigh Grange Road – B7024 Northbound.
Vehicles wishing to access the A77 (Glasgow to Stranraer trunk road) from the B7024 (High Maybole Road) from a northbound direction via the U47 (Laigh Grange Road) should continue by way of B7024 (High Maybole Road), and the C122 (Minishant to Garryhorn Road) as directed by the on-street diversion signs.

5. Bankend Bridge, U47 Laigh Grange Road – B7024 Southbound.
Vehicles wishing to access the A77 (Glasgow to Stranraer trunk road) from the B7024 (High Maybole Road) from a southbound direction via the U47 (Laigh Grange Road) should continue by way of B7024 (High Maybole Road), and the B7023 (Maybole to Pennyglen Road) as directed by the on-street diversion signs.
