MAKE-OVER FOR KENNEDY HALL DUNURE

Kennedy Hall in Dunure is to be upgraded following a successful application to South Ayrshire Council’s Rural Communities Committee for funding of £7,600.

The Committee will use the funding to undertake part of a repair programme including new kitchen doors and fittings, plastering, painting work, roughcasting and slate replacement. The Kennedy Hall and Park Committee lease the Kennedy Hall on a full repair and maintenance basis.

On learning that the bid for funding had been successful Councillor Alan Murray , who represents North Carrick and Maybole West said: “South Ayrshire Council, is working in partnership with the Committee, to bring about the improvements to the hall.

“Members of the local community use the hall for a wide range of activities, and local people see it as a key part of village life.

“The Dunure Hall and Park Committee carry out tremendous work, and will now look for funding from other sources to further progress the project.

The total cost for the work is £7,704, however the organisation does not have significant financial reserves to carry out this work.

The Rural Communities Committee decided to grant the funding request subject to the Kennedy Hall and Park Committee contributing to the project with voluntary input.
