COUNCIL TO HAVE FORMAL LINK WITH NEW AYR UNITED COMPANY

South Ayrshire Council’s Depute Chief Executive and Director of Development, Safety and Regulation, Graham Peterkin has taken on an additional new role – representing the Council as a Director of the newly formed Ayr United Football Academy Limited.

The decision to accept the invitation to have representation on the new company was made by the Council’s Policy and Resources Committee after it received a report explaining that as part of a re-structuring of Ayr United Football Club, a not-for-profit organisation had been formed to oversee the youth development and community involvement role of the Football Club.

Said Councillor Andy Hill, Leader of South Ayrshire Council: “The new organisation has a number of objectives including working in partnership; with other similarly-minded organisations locally. It would seem important for the Council to maintain good working relations and, where appropriate, to work in partnership with the local football club and that we should therefore welcome the opportunity to participate in this new company.

“Graham Peterkin readily accepted the proposal that he should be nominated to undertake the role.”
