The Continental Market
The Continental Market returns to Ayr this summer – its first visit to this part
of the country in more than four years.
In partnership with South Ayrshire Council and Ayr Renaissance and with support
from Prestwick Airport, the Continental Market comes to River Street in Ayr between
Thursday 11 and Monday 14 August, bringing with it the tastes, sounds, smells and
fun of Europe.
Sure to be popular with residents and visitors alike, the market will offer clothing,
flowers, food and homewares from across Europe. For example: food goods such as
sun-ripened olives, fine coffees, biscuits and breads from Italy and France, handbags
from Paris, clothing from Finland, piquant French cheeses and spicy sausages from
Germany, a Dutch flower market, French cookware/tableware and items such as unique
Russian matryoshka dolls are all expected to be on offer (subject to the traders
who take part).
You will be spoilt for choice, so make sure you take the time to come along and
visit the Continental market, which will open each day between 9am and 5.30pm.
