Local Licensing Forum
The Local Licensing Forum has been set up by South Ayrshire Council. Its role is
to keep under review the operation of the Licensing (Scotland) act 2005 in the Forum’s
area and the exercise by the Licensing Board of its functions.
It can also give advice and make recommendations to the Board on general policy
but it cannot however review or give advice or make recommendations in relation
to a particular case.
The Forum is made up of holders of premises and personal licences, a police representative,
a representative from ADAT, a young person, the Licensing Standards Officer, people
resident within the Forum’s area and a member of the Licensing Board.
The Forum sits 4 times per year.
The current members are:
- Robin Russell (Convenor)
- Rachel Rennie, Sandra Horne, Rabinder Singh and Alexander Bradford (Licensees)
- Margaret Anderson, Ian Hunter, Archie Monkhouse, Patricia Robertson (Persons resident
in the area)
- Dr Charles Lind, Ayrshire & Arran Drug Action Team
- Superintendent Liz Weir, Strathclyde Police
- Martin Caird, (Young Peoples representative)
- Michael Ankers (Chairman, South Ayrshire Access Panel)
- Councillor Douglas Campbell (Chairman, South Ayrshire Licensing Board)
- Catrina Andrew, Licensing Standards Officer, South Ayrshire Council
