Joining Information

Cool It Book

To join the library ask your librarian for a membership form and get the person who looks after you (legal guardian) to fill it in. Hand the form back to your librarian and you will receive a ticket.

If the person who has signed your form is not a library member we will need some proof of identity. This could be an old telephone bill, gas bill or child benefit book.

You can use your ticket in any South Ayrshire Library. Its free to join the library. Anyone can join - however young.

How many books can I borrow?

You may take out up to 8 items (books or storytapes) for up to 4 weeks. The date they are due for return is stamped on the item.

What if I lose a book?

Tell the librarian and you will be asked to pay the cost of a replacement book.

What if I bring my books back late?

Sadly fines are charged on books returned late to the library. But remember! You can always renew your books on the telephone or email if you can't manage to bring them back in person. You must renew your books before they are due for return or you will still be fined.

What if I lose my library ticket?

Report it to your nearest library as soon as possible as someone may use your ticket to take books out.
