Histories
The library holds a number of books on individual families from
Ayrshire. A few examples are listed below:-

Reader Printers
There are three Microfilm Readers available for public use. These
can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance by contacting the Scottish
& Local History Library. Charges are made for photocopies.
Computer
Facilities
The local history library has 2 machines available for public access,
these can be booked in advance by telephoning the department Tel:
(01292) 286385.
CD ROM titles are available for use free of charge including; Family
Tree Maker, Scottish Bibliography and the Herald newspaper. Staff
are happy to help readers use the facilities available in the Scottish
and Local History Library but first time computer users are advised
to attend the CyberCentre for some
basic training in the first instance.
Online genealogical material can be accessed in the CyberCentre
free of charge.
Copying
Service
Copies of material may be obtained in the form of photocopies subject
to copyright restrictions. There is a small charge for this and
details are available on request.

Electronic Enquiries
Enquiries ranging from basic to advanced will be dealt with by
staff in the Scottish and Local History Library . A table of search
charges is available on request by telephoning the Scottish and
Local History Library or emailing Local.History@south-ayrshire.gov.uk
