All changes in property ownership were recorded in the register of sasines. Indexes available in Carnegie are:

Retours and Services of Heirs

Important sources of information on the inheritance of property. These were enquiries into the next of kin of a dead property owner, following a special writ issued from the chancery. Printed lists are available for 1544 - 1699.
