Computers in libraries

Computers are available to use in all South Ayrshire Libraries for up to 2 hours per day. All machines have access to the Internet and the full Microsoft Office suite including; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Publisher.

Cost: There is no charge for using the computers, the only thing we charge for is print outs.

Headphones

If you would like to listen to something on our PCs you will need to supply your own headphones, or you can purchase a set for £1.

Printing

All our PCs are connected to laser colour printers. Printing and photocopying charges.

Scanners

Scanners are also available on some PCs’ for those requiring electronic copies of images or documents. If you require to use a scanner please mention this when you are booking your PC, as not all of our computers have a scanner connected to them.

You can contact the library you would like to book your computer time directly or you can Book a PC online, you will need your library card number and PIN to do this.

Never used a computer before?

If you have never used a computer before and would like help to surf the web or send an email then we can help to get you started. The Cyber Centre at Carnegie Library offers friendly and informal tuition in a relaxed library environment. Our Basic Computer Courses and One to One I.T. taster sessions will have you pointing and clicking in no time at all and for those who are interested in gaining a qualification in IT, we are a registered European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) test centre.
