South Ayrshire Libraries
Children's Services
What is there for me in the library?
For babies, toddlers and pre-school children we provide a large selection of picture
books.
Storytime - larger libraries have Storytime for children aged 4 - 6 years. Ask your
librarian for details of a storytime near you. Ayr Carnegie Library has storytime for
toddlers, please contact the library for more details by phone 01292 286385 or
email.
We have a wide selection of story tapes and CDs (books on tape or CD) for every
age. All your favourite stories on tape - great for just before you go to sleep
or long car journeys.
Competitions - watch out
for some super competitions, especially at school holiday times.
To join the library ask your librarian for a membership form and get the person
who looks after you (legal guardian) to fill it in. Hand the form back to your librarian
and you will receive a library membership card.
If the person who has signed your form is not a library member we will need some
proof of identity. This could be an old telephone bill, gas bill or child benefit
book.
You can use your ticket in any South Ayrshire Library. It's free to join the library.
Anyone can join - however young.
