The Curious
Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
by Mark Haddon |

|
Christopher is 15-year-old boy
who has Asperger's Syndrome. Life is difficult for him - he
is spooked by certain colours, reacts violently to being touched
and is extremely persistent when he wants to know something.
When the poodle next door is killed with a garden fork, Christopher
becomes quietly persistent in his desire to find out what has
happened and tugs away at the world around him until a lot of
secrets unravel messily. This is a must read for anyone who
knows a person with Asperger's or autism or for anyone who enjoys
a good story well told. The story is thought provoking and hugely
enjoyable, and not a page goes by when you do not learn something
new about Christopher. (Suitable for 13 years and over.) |
