Basic Skills for Inclusive Learning (BASIL)

BASIL is a national project to support tutors and others who are helping adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to develop literacy and numeracy skills. The project aims to provide access to news and information, contact with experts, and ideas and tools to help learners. The website has both a section for practitioners and one for learners.

BBC Skillswise

BBC website developed in partnership with the Basic Skills Agency to provide online adult literacy and numeracy activities aimed at learners and their tutors. The site will develop into a major free resource to support the national adult basic skills curriculum and tests, and invites feedback from practitioners before its formal launch to learners in spring 2002.

This site contains a resource, training and staffroom area for literacy workers.
