The Three Lists (Housing, Transfer And Homeless)The Council operates three waiting lists and each applicant who is accepted willl, depending on his/her housing circumstances, be placed on one of these lists. A homeless applicant will be given the opportunity to be placed on both the homeless and housing lists. On the Housing and Transfer lists, an applicant’s position will be determined by the number of points. Points are awarded according to a set of needs based criteria and for waiting time. An applicant’s position on the homeless list will be determined by the date of their application (please refer to the Council’s Homeless Policy). Each applicant will be held for either
mainstream, sheltered or ground level accommodation.
Sheltered and ground level applicants are determined
by an assessment carried out by the Area Housing
Manager
There are 9 letting districts, sub-divided into 81 letting neighbourhoods. For individual street names for each letting neighbourhood see Letting Districts in the Housing Option Guide. Applicants are not entitled to specify individual streets or groups of properties. In addition to this, there are 28 low demand streets in Ayr North Letting District where applicants may choose individual streets rather than a whole neighbourhood. Housing and Transfer list applicants may choose any number of letting districts and neighbourhoods and any house and heating types. However, different rules may apply to certain priority application, i.e. PMED, PRIS, CCC, KEY and IC cases (see below). PMED = Priority Medical Status on waiting list; has been awarded to an applicant for essential re-housing due to medical conditions. PRIS = Status on waiting list given to applicants who have confirmed release date from prison. KEY = Status awarded to applicants who have been assessed as having Key Worker status for South Ayrshire area, and this is their reason for requiring rehousing. CCC = Community Care Case: Applicants awarded a priority for suitable rehousing who are at risk of being admitted to long stay hospital or residential care, or are being released from the aforementioned and require appropriate housing. IC = Applicant has exceptional circumstances and has been awarded an Individual Case status by Convenor and Vice-Convenor's sub committee. Applicants on the Housing and Transfer lists may amend their choice of letting districts and neighbourhoods at any time. If there are no applicants on a waiting list for a specific neighbourhood, the Divisional Housing Manager will consider suitable applicants held on other lists |
