How to register with a Doctor

It is very important that you register with a local doctor (GP) as soon as possible as if you become ill, and are not registered, you may not be able to see a doctor of your choice.

You should make contact with your local GP Practice either by phone or by calling in at the surgery.

When you go to register, you should take your NHS medical card, if you have it, and your previous doctor’s name and address (so that any records they have can be transferred to their new doctor).

If you are having difficulty becoming registered, you should contact Practitioner Services who will allocate you a GP.
