Rozelle House and the Maclaurin Galleries

Access Information
Rozelle House is an 'A' listed building and visitors should be aware that at present, there is no level or lift access to the building to view the Goudie collection, Craft Shop or Yeomanry museum. However, the Maclaurin Galleries, public toilets and Coffee Shop are all on ground floor level. There is car parking outside the main door and reserved parking for the disabled.

Facilities: Visitors are asked to note that there is a disabled toilet available within Rozelle Park, adjacent to the Maclaurin Galleries, but not yet in the Gallery building itself. A Radar key is required for access. A key is available is available from staff in the Maclaurin Gallery or the Tearoom. There is level access to the Maclaurin Galleries and through to Rozelle Tearoom with access for standard wheelchairs. A wheelchair is available for use by visitors. Access to the main House and Craft shop is currently via stairs only. The Council is currently progressing disabled access and accessible facilities in the venue. Please telephone the galleries in advance of your visit if you have particular concerns about access or facilities.

By Bus
Rozelle House is in Rozelle Park just off Monument Road in Ayr (5 minutes walk down the road from Burns Cottage, past the Ivy House Hotel and to the right. The Ayr/Maybole bus (no 57) stops outside the front gates and leaves from Ayr Bus station at 45 minutes past the hour and Maybole train station at 12 minutes past the hour. There is also an infrequent service to Dunure from Ayr, which also passes this point at times during the day (call Ayr Bus station for more info on 01292 613500). Behind Rozelle Park lies the Loaning where the A1 bus service passes around every 15 minutes and leaves from the Spar Shop in Boswell Park, Ayr. All of these buses can be caught later in their journey from Burns Statue Square, which is a minute walk from Ayr train station.

By train
Ayr is accessible by Train starting from Stranraer, Carlisle, Glasgow, Girvan, Kilmarnock and many more. There are taxis and buses available to continue your journey to Rozelle.

On foot
Rozelle is about a 30 minute brisk walk from Ayr Train Station and town centre. Leave Ayr Railway Station and cross into Burns Statue Square, walk past the odeon cinema to Killock Place. Then turn left along Killock Place into Beresford Terrace and walk Southwards past Grammar Primary School. Continue along into Carrick Park and then left into Carrick Avenue. Turn right at the end of Carrick Avenue into Carrick Road. Continue along Carrick Road and into Monument Road. Continue along Monument Road until

The McKechnie Institute

Access Information
The McKechnie Institute is a 'B' listed building and visitors should be aware that at present there is no lift access to the upper floor of the building. However, there is level access to all rooms on the ground floor and a disabled toilet. There is limited parking around the building and it is most sensible to park in the large car park behind the Bank of Scotland on Dalrymple Street.

By Train
There is a train service to Girvan from Ayr and Stranraer. Trains from Glasgow also run directly to Girvan. The McKechnie Institute is about a 10 minute walk from the train station and is located in the town centre.

By Bus
The number 58 and 60 buses go from Ayr bus station to Girvan roughly every hour. They stop on Dalrymple Street by the McKechnie Institute or at Girvan Harbour (just round the corner form the McKechnie) at different times during the day. These buses also stop in Burns Statue Square in Ayr (right beside Ayr Train Station).
