Gaiety Theatre, Ayr
The Project to re-launch the Gaiety is underway!
South Ayrshire Council’s Gaiety Theatre in Ayr closed to the public on 31
January 2009 due to health and safety concerns.
Since then, the Council has appointed a ‘preferred bidder’ – The
Ayr Gaiety Partnership – to work with the Council to reopen the theatre and
keep it running for many years as a viable and sustainable community facility.
Thanks to funding from South Ayrshire Council and the Town Centre Regeneration Fund,
£1 million has already been allocated to the project to reopen the Gaiety.
The Ayr Gaiety Partnership has now launched a public appeal to help raise the £2.6
million additional funds required to make that a reality.
