Margaret Hunter will be leading a 'step-by-step' workshop, over 2 days, designed to build skills which can unleash the imagination and enable participants to make their own highly personal images.
Margaret will use her artistic practice and experience to support participants to explore both intuitive and intellectual ways of working using a range of media.
These workshops will be lively, intensive - but fun! Suitable for those who have some experience and are open to trying something new!
Day 1 - Tuesday 29 August, 10am - 4pm / Day 2 - Wednesday 30 August, 10am - 4pm
Attendance is recommended for both days:
Day 1 - drawing with graphite pencil, charcoal, pens, pastels:
- Make an objective drawing in front of a still life.
- Follow with quick, dynamic sketches designed to liberate and to exclude conscious thought.
- This work will form the basis of small compositional ideas and mark-making will be explored.
Day 2 - painting with water based medium, acrylic or gouache:
Various components from the previous day's work will be developed into a painting (or paintings) on board or canvas.
