AYR CONSTITUENCY - Election 2001 The Ayr Constituency is situated wholly within South Ayrshire Council and as well as the historic county town of Ayr, encompasses the towns of Prestwick and Troon. Troon is the home of Royal Troon Golf Course and will be the venue of the Open Golf Championship in 2004. It also covers the rural area to the north of Ayr with the villages of Monkton, Tarbolton, Dundonald, Symington and Loans. Prestwick is the location of Glasgow Prestwick International Airport.
