Council Tax

Ways to pay your Council tax

By Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the simplest and most convenient way to pay. There are no cheques to write, no cash to deal with and no ongoing paperwork because payments are made for you by your bank or building society. You will always remain in control of your payments, as we will notify you at least ten working days before any change to your payments. You are guaranteed a full and immediate refund by your bank in the unlikely event of an error and you are free to cancel the direct debit instruction at any time.

The council offers a choice of dates for payment of council tax by direct debit.

Telephone 0300 123 0900 to set up a Direct Debit over the phone (please have your bank details to hand).

Pay online

You can pay your Council tax through our secure online payment facility using most major credit or debit cards (not Diners Card or American Express).

Your 13 digit Council tax account number is required to make a payment.
