The Lifelong Learning Section consists of the Public
Libraries, Museums
and Galleries, the Community Education Service, Sport,
Arts and Cultural Development Services and Childcare
Services. The section offers a range of exciting learning
opportunities for people of all ages.
A key feature of the section is its delivery of activities for
young people in schools or in their communities. The section
works with young people through a wide range of activities that
encourage creativity and ambition and support the development
of citizenship. Childcare Services help to make sure that children
and young people are healthy, happy, safe and achieving their
potential.
Adult learning supported activities are developed in partnership
with individuals and groups and delivered in local communities
through our Libraries Services, the Community Education Service
and Museums and Galleries. Local learning centres have been developed
in Maybole, Dailly, Lochside, Dalmilling and Troon. Others are
planned for future development. Help with literacy or numeracy
is also available to individuals and groups.
