Registering to vote

Election 2017

The deadline to register to vote in the Council election on 4 May has passed.

If you are registered to vote, you should have received your poll card telling you where to vote. If you have not received a poll card, you are unlikely to be registered to vote.

If you are already registered to vote, but would like to vote by proxy – where someone else casts your vote on your behalf – the deadline for new applications to vote by proxy is 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017.

If you would like to register to vote in future elections – including the General Election on Thursday 8 June 2017 – you can register online now at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

Please have a note of your National Insurance number available so you can complete the process quickly.

If you have any registration or postal voting enquiries, please contact the Electoral Registration Office on 01292 612221.
