South Ayrshire Council Local Government Elections, 4 May 2017

The Scottish Local Government – or Council elections – take place on Thursday 4 May 2017.

The elections give you the chance to have your say on the Councillors you want to represent you and your community on South Ayrshire Council.

The Council is responsible for a wide variety of local services that impact on the everyday lives of people across South Ayrshire.

As a result of The Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland Fifth Statutory Review of Electoral Arrangements, 28 Councillors will be elected to South Ayrshire Council on 4 May 2017 – this is a reduction of two on the current numbers.

This means that the following number of Councillors will be elected to each of the eight Council wards:

  • Ward 1 Troon – 4
  • Ward 2 Prestwick – 4
  • Ward 3 Ayr North – 4
  • Ward 4 Ayr East – 3
  • Ward 5 Ayr West – 4
  • Ward 6 Kyle – 3
  • Ward 7 Maybole, North Carrick & Coylton – 3
  • Ward 8 Girvan & South Carrick – 3
