Council election

The next Scottish local government election takes place on Thursday 4 May 2017. To help candidates, and potential candidates, in the run up to the election, the Improvement Service has developed a dedicated website,, which will help candidates make a decision on whether they would like to stand. The website also highlights the important role Councillors have in improving the lives of people in their area and supports candidates to be better informed about what is expected of them should they be elected. The site will be continually updated as we move closer to 4 May and candidates/potential candidates can keep up to date on Twitter – @LocalCllr2017 – or by signing up to the newsletter on the website.

The Administration for South Ayrshire Council is a Conservative minority administration working in partnership with the Labour Group.
