Voluntary Organisations - Request for Financial Assistance

Standard Awards

It is anticipated that many of the applicants for support from a small grants budget will fall into a number of identifiable groupings.

In these circumstances it is recommended that the following standard levels of grant be considered if the applicant fulfils all eligibility and related requirements.

These 'standard amounts' should only be varied in circumstances in which the awarding Committee feels are appropriate.

a. New organisations: £100 start-up grants for groups setting up for the first time.

b. Elderly/Senior Citizens Clubs: £200 per annum for programme costs.

c. Youth Clubs: £250 per annum for programme costs.

d. Tenants/Residents Associations: £250 per annum for programme costs.

e. Pre-Five Organisations: £350 for equipment identified in annual inspections.

f. Playschemes: The Council should consider using formulae previously utilised by SRC Community Grants Committee.

g. Gala Days: £100

In any instance where Reporting Departments are recommending that these Amounts should be exceeded, please state fully your reason for doing so.
