Community based adult learning

Adult Learning is essential to enable and encourage adults in South Ayrshire to acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to play an active role in personal life, working life, family life and in local communities.

Adult Learning opportunities may be formal or informal and usually take place in settings within the local communities of South Ayrshire.

  • Adult Learning can be the key to unlock opportunities for employment.
  • Adult Learning can provide the foundation for improvements in health.
  • Adult Learning can provide parents with opportunities to better support their children and families.

Through a community based Adult Learning course you can take your first step back into learning and just begin the process of getting out of the house, meeting other like-minded people and building up your confidence.

Whatever type and level of course you decide to undertake you will receive personalised information, advice and guidance from dedicated Community Learning and Development staff who will help you to decide the best learning opportunity to meet your particular needs.

Some of the opportunities which we deliver include IT (computer based) courses, family learning courses and courses specific to a particular job field such as Care, Retail, Office Work and Customer Care.
