Japanese Archery (West of Scotland Kyudo)

The West of Scotland Kyudo Society is a private voluntary body established to promote the practice of Kyudo – the traditional art of the Japanese bow.

It is open to all aged 18 or over who have an interest in Japanese traditional culture and in a practical way wish to take on the challenge and demands that Kyudo has to offer.

The group is managed by Malcolm Bagnall who holds a Renshi, 6th dan grade and has over 25 years experience of kyudo. He is senior grade at the Manchester Kyudo Group and will travel to Prestwick regularly to lead the practice.

West of Scotland Kyudo Society is member of the national governing body the United Kingdom Kyudo Association, and is the only group in Scotland practicing Japanese Archery.

Please contact us in advance at if you are interested in attending a practice.

Our practice schedule can be seen on our website.
