South Ayrshire Children's Panel
Advisory Committee (CPAC)
The Children's Panel Advisory Committee currently has six members all of whom are
volunteers also. Four members are appointed by the Scottish Government and two are
appointed by the Local Authority. Two of the Scottish Government appointees perform
the role of Joint Chairs. The Children's Panel Advisory Committee is responsible
for the recruitment, monitoring and training of Children's Panel members. The Children's
Panel Advisory Committee meet approximately every 6 weeks throughout the year. Children's
Panel Advisory Committee members also attend training modules run by the University
of Glasgow.
Both the Children's Panel and the Children's Panel Advisory Committee (CPAC) have
national bodies, the Children’s Panel Chairman’s Group and the Children’s Panel
Advisory Group. Both meet at the Scottish Government offices at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh.
Representatives of the Scottish Government’s Children’s Hearing Branch attend these
meetings.
