Please use the Green Bin

Do NOT put egg boxes into the blue bin as the fibres cannot be recycled into paper.

Egg boxes can also be composted.

soft plastic egg boxes that can be easily crushed by hand cannot be recycled therefore should go into the green bin.

Add egg shells to compost as they contain lime and will reduce the acidity. Crushed eggshells are also a good deterrent to slugs and snails.

Egg shells should be placed in the food waste bin.

Please recycle at your local community recycling centre or contact us to arrange a special collection.

If you do not dispose of engine oil correctly, it can pollute rivers causing harm to wildlife, removing vital oxygen from watercourses. It only takes one litre of engine oil to pollute 700,000 litres of fresh water.

Take used engine oil to your local recycling centre.

Pouring oil down the drain will cause pollution. It is also an offence.

If oil is spilt, stop it from entering the drain by absorbing it with sand or earth. Never hose it down.

Please use the blue bin.

Please use the Green Bin or many opticians accept old spectacles which are passed on to charity.
