Active Schools
Ali Mutch
As an Active Schools Coordinator my role is to look to develop ways to offer children
and young people the opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles,
now and into adulthood. My job revolves around the communities of Troon and Dundonald
where I work directly with the 5 primary schools in the Marr Cluster.
As well as pioneering new opportunities for activity I am also involved in supporting
people, schools and clubs who are already delivering sports, activity sessions,
curricular P.E. and health education. Looking at how all the partners involved in
sport can work together better and more effectively is a key driver to the role.
Amongst other key work areas, I work directly with South Ayrshire Road Safety and
South Ayrshire Junior Golf to help coordinate golf and cycling throughout primary
schools in South Ayrshire Council.
